JOB GOAL

To support the camp leaders and assist in providing a quality summer camp experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent; experience as a teacher/caregiver aide for 12 months; OR volunteer in a child care facility for 12 months or enrollment in a vocational training
  2. Must pass a background check
  3. Must obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  4. Excellent customer service and
  5. CPR/First A id
  6. Evidence of clear TB
  7. Enjoys working with children
  8. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., be able to exert 25 -30 of force frequently, push, pulI or otherwise move objects.
  9. Ability to walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, and to sit for long periods of time.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
  1. Support QCUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
  2. Monitors and assists children to ensure children's safety at all times in the QCUSD Summer Camp (6:30 am - 6:00 pm shift Monday thru Friday).
  3. Maintains an environment in accordance with Department of Health Service's childcare licensing requirements.
  4. Excellent customer service and reliability.
  5. Enjoys working with children.
  6. Team player with ability to work well with peers.
  7. Capable of working with children from a variety of ages, while maintaining student confidentiality.
  8. Sets up rooms for activities and cleans up after activities.
  9. Learns the assigned plans and is prepared before children arrive.
  10. Operates and cares for equipment in the program.
  11. Attends required staff meetings and trainings as directed and required by licensing and district.
  12. Interacts positively with parents and/or guardians.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop. The employee is frequently required to move about the campuses and to drive to the schools and departments in the District. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Summer Camp Dates

COMPENSATION: Classified Salary Schedule

BENEFITS: As per District policy

REPORTS TO: Community Education Director

EVALUATION: Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.

HOURS: 30-35 hours per week

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
