Plans, assigns, and manages the work of communications and websites teams; manages various types of communications programs including website, intranet, newsletters, School Board and principal toolkits, news releases, and talking points designed to create and maintain favorable public relations for the school division, both internally and for the community at large; responds to media requests as required; provides consultative support to staff as needed; ensures that staff is properly trained.

Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Six years of progressively more responsible experience related to publishing, reporting, editing, or web-based services, two years of which must have been with oversight or supervisory responsibilities. Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) preferred. Knowledge of current best practices to effectively communicate with a broad range of stakeholders and diverse audiences. Knowledge of public education, news media, public relation practices, and crisis communications. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to public information, privacy rights, and communications. Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects. Ability to plan, manage, and supervise programs and personnel. Ability to develop, deliver, and oversee staff development programs. Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups. Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
