Cafeteria Manager Operations
Qualifications:
1. Associate Degree or better in food service management, nutrition or business preferred.
2. Valid driver's license and have the ability to use personal vehicle.
3. Five (5) or more years experience in large-scale school food service operations and preferring those with at least two (2) of the five (5) having experience managing multiple school locations.
4. Knowledge of Pennsylvania Meals programs, and allocation and management of government commodities.
5. Valid food safety certification.
6. School Nutrition Association certification preferred.
7. Knowledge of child nutrition regulations, sanitation, food safety, and laws/regulations governing school food service operations.
8. Computer skills in the latest operating system of Microsoft Windows including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Publisher.
9. Knowledge of school food Point of Sale software and nutrition analysis for school food service.
10. Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
11. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Summary
Under the Director of Child Nutrition Services, the Cafeteria Manager will supervise and coordinate the operations and staff of Child Nutrition Services; is responsible for analyzing menus for compliance with nutrient analysis requirements set forth by the USDA; must implement and adhere to USDA and State Nutrition Standards in menu offerings; will assure compliance with federal regulations as they relate to the NSLP, food safety, nutrition and quality control at sites, shall plan and organize staff training and development; will work with students and staff to improve participation and quality of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs; coordinates the procurement of supplies and services including; catering, food, supplies, vending, J. Birney Crum concessions, marketing, and other contracted services.
