QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in business management, Human Resources, or related field; MA preferred.
  2. Strong organizational skills.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Experience working in a K-12 education system preferred.
  5. Proficient in oral and written usage of the English language.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft and financial database applications.
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Director of Budget and Finance

SUPERVISES: NA

JOB GOALS:

Provide leadership and support in the delivery of employee support services including payroll, benefits, wellness, and internal district communication. Assist the Director of Budget and Finance in carrying out the mission of the Business Office in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee employee payroll files and data.
  2. Accurately and timely processing of all functions associated with preparing payrolls and employee wage reports for the district.
  3. Prepare and present payroll packets to new employees.
  4. Assist in development and execution of new employee orientation for certified and classified staff.
  5. Prepare and process payrolls for mid-month and end of month with strict time frame deadlines.
  6. Coordinate all payroll processing and reports with the Director of Business Services.
  7. Submit reports to Federal and State agencies within strict time frame deadlines.
  8. File and maintain all new employee forms.
  9. Process information for employment verification forms and survey requests.
  10. Oversee employee life and disability claims.
  11. Enroll and update IPERS membership information to IPERS.
  12. Receive and process child support and garnishments.
  13. Process and track COBRA insurance payments from retired employees.
  14. Oversee and coordinate with, Business Office, district insurance benefits for all employees.
  15. Serve as Payroll/Benefits representative to the Insurance Committee.
  16. Lead district efforts related to climate and culture.
  17. Assist in design of materials for internal and external use related to employee support.
  18. Other duties as assigned.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Twelve month position; salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.
  2. Hours beyond the standard office hours (8:00 - 5:00) may be required.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
