Qualifications:
The candidate must hold an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS): Endorsed as a Paraprofessional Educator (PARA).
- Completed at least 60 Semester Hours of Credit from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. (Excluding remedial coursework).Paraprofessional experience from Pre-K through Age 21 preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, students' parents and communityExcellent oral and written communication skillsUnder the direction of the Middle School Principals, collaborate with staff members to provide academic assistance to students. The substitute may also meet with classroom teachers and other staff regularly to plan appropriate instructional lessons.Demonstrated ability to implement varied classroom instructional strategiesEducational vision for and experience with low-income and /or minority students
- Clarifying learning programsWorking on study skillsReviewing class materialsDiscussing text materialHelping students work out problemsPromoting independent learning and self-relianceDocument student performance and progress in collaboration with classroom TeacherDocument daily student attendanceMonitor student behaviorMeet regularly with other staff members and classroom teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activitiesOther duties as assigned
