  1. Coordinate afterschool and extended learning programs; serving as a primary site contact for extended learning program planning and implementation
  2. Support campus afterschool site coordinators and campus leaders with registration and implementation of afterschool and extended learning programming
  3. Develop and execute strategies designed to maximize the participation in afterschool and extended learning programs
  4. Build relationships and create a community of support with afterschool site coordinators, campus leaders and community stakeholders
  5. Develop, lead, and provide workshops and/or training modules for afterschool and/or extended learning site coordinators
  6. Monitoring progress of district's performance targets and department goals related to extended learning opportunities
  7. Coordinate and facilitate the development of cooperative efforts between all necessary departments and stakeholders to ensure a quality extended learning program
  8. Organize and participate in meetings/sessions related to extended learning program planning
  9. Interpret, prepare, and disseminate information related to extended learning programs utilizing effective technology and best practices
  10. Understand and communicate legal and local promotion and retention policies and requirements to stakeholders
  11. Communicate effectively with departmental staff, principals, teachers, and external stakeholders in oral and written form
  12. Develop and maintain databases, reports, and/or documentation that summarize departmental activities and budget
  13. Communicates pertinent compliance data, expectations and processes to Extended Learning Program site coordinators.
  14. Assist with achieving the goal of sustaining a research-based, goal-driven extended learning program for students; keep abreast of technical, legislative, and professional trends related to after school and summer learning.
  15. Ensure appropriate evaluation and rigorous review of all extended learning programs including the development, maintenance, and implementation of data management/governance solutions for evaluation needs
  16. Monitor the compliance with policies, procedures, and extended year guidelines; visit campuses as needed for supporting program implementation
  17. Complete other tasks and duties as determined by the assigned supervisor


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university in a directly related field; valid Texas teacher certification
  • Three years of related work experience
  • Experience creating and delivering lessons to students
  • Demonstrate knowledge of afterschool program and extended learning program design and implementation goals
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Demonstrate ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate to the community, district staff, and the public at large to include external and internal marketing and program awareness, communication for understanding requirements and deadlines, and service-oriented communications from departmental email account
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from district personnel, parents and the general public
  • Exemplary skills in presentation, designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring projects/programs in accordance with specified guidelines and policies
  • Working knowledge of Dallas ISD Departments
  • Ability to prioritize assignments
