Essential Functions and Objectives:
D ean of Student Services reports directly to the Principal and is a full-time position on the school leadership team. Dean of Student Services will supervise all coordinators of student award, gifted & talented, and intervention services and programs. Ensure that all students are successful in the learning community, through coordination and oversight of intervention services to maximize the potential of all students.
K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
- Special Education certification.
- Gifted and Talented certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DPS Human Resource and other departmental policies.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze and interpret assessment data, and then coordinate next steps.
- Excellent communication skills with diverse groups (teachers, parents, students, board members, etc.).
- Strong written skills.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to anticipate challenges.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly managing multiple groups and programs.
E ducation Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
