Salary Range: $21.289 to $25.380 Hourly

Essential Functions and Objectives:

With a solid financial/accounting foundation, perform duties in the Business Services Office at Emily Griffith Technical College, to include all aspects of procurement and sourcing, analysis and verifying financial data for use in maintaining student accounts, according to accounting procedures, and related policies and procedures, purchasing responsibilities and an array of other ad-hoc financial duties.

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

-Lead the purchasing/ procurement and accounts payable efforts for Emily Griffith Technical College, including being the SME for all purchasing related questions, inquiries and requests.

-Perform all aspects of the purchasing process in accordance with Denver Public Schools policies. This includes entering requisitions to be turned into purchase orders by DPS, purchasing items on EGTC's Visa card, processing employee reimbursement and travel expense requests, reconciling invoices and submitting them to DPS for payment, reconciling Visa transactions in the accounting system, and other duties as needed.

-Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, orders, and postings recorded by other workers.

-Perform various ad-hoc financial and accounting duties, as needed by the team.

-Compile, organize, track and update data for various reports. Update, organize and file accurate record. Perform other duties as requested.

-Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes.

-Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiative.

-Asesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement.

-Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.

-Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products.

-Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

-Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management.

-Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district.

-Identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualification:

-Two or more years of related experience accounting, finance or bookkeeping.

-Experience with variety of computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing and databases, automated on-line accounting systems, and payroll software (e.g. Lawson).

-Knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.

-Effective time management and organizational skills.

-The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance.

-Work collaboratively with others on a team.

Education Requirements:

-Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

-Minimum High School Diploma.
