    TITLE: Coordinator of Talent (Recruitment and Retention)

    REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Talent and Human Resources (ED)

    SUPERVISES: Human Resources Specialist, and others as assigned

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month unaffiliated position. Other terms are set by the Board of Education in accordance with the New London Public Schools Unaffiliated Staff Manual.

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:
    Under the direction of the ED, the Coordinator of Talent will work to identify staffing needs and actively recruit for identified positions based on the district's priorities. The Coordinator will also focus on onboarding and retention initiatives for staff.

    The Coordinator of Talent will collaborate with other departments to ensure that highly qualified and diverse candidates are presented to them for their hiring consideration.

    TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Sourcing candidates through various channels, e.g., traditional print advertising, social platforms, and professional networks.
    • Development of recruitment strategies in collaboration with the ED and other district leaders.
    • Coordinate recruitment together with hiring managers and their designees.
    • Ensure that staffing needs are clearly articulated and then align them to the recruitment activities.
    • Assist with the determination of selection criteria.
    • Develop interview panel protocols and facilitate interview committees as assigned.
    • Assess candidate information, including online application materials, through the Applicant Tracking System.
    • Assist in the development of job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position's requirements.
    • Ensure that recruitment activities adhere to BOE policies and department regulations.
    • Engage in forecasting hiring needs on an annual basis with a quarterly review and periodic updates.
    • Foster long term relationships with "feeder" agencies and institutions to maximize the number of highly qualified potential candidates.
    • Serve as an "ambassador" of the district as a representative of its Talent and Human Resources Department in all aspects of the work.

    Other:
    • Leads, co-leads, or serves as a member of multiple district committees that may include, for example, recruitment, evaluation and professional growth, and community engagement.
    • Performs other tasks as assigned by the ED.
    • Develop and implement strategies to ensure retention of staff, to include effective onboarding and support of new hires.
    • Coordinates the exit survey process for departing employees to gather data and make recommendations essential to our talent strategy.
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field or five years of professional Human Resources experience.
    • Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting practices.
    • Strong familiarity with, and ability to work through, social media and professional online networks.
    • Demonstrated skill in developing interview processes and questions.
    • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Multilingual, Spanish preferred
    • SHRM Certification
    • Ability to establish and maintain high standards of behavior.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Demonstrated skill as a collaborator who seeks to engage, inform, and inspire others.
    • Understanding of current best practices related to talent acquisition, development and retention.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    ANTICIPATED SALARY: Between $70,000-$80,000

    PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Annually by the Executive Director of Talent and Human Resources.
