NATURE OF POSITION:

  • Develop and provide instruction for Technology Education.
  • Teach skills, knowledge, standards, and competencies for Technology Education to students utilizing the curriculum approved by the local school division and the Virginia Department of Education.
  • Plan and implement appropriate learning strategies and activities for technology education including network design, cybersecurity and/or robotics systems.
  • Provide quality occupational instruction to students in cybersecurity and/or robotics and automated manufacturing technology skill competencies.
  • Maximize student achievement, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, conduct, attendance and other matters of performance related skills.
  • Prepare students for credentialing tests, career day and mock interviews.
  • Complete follow-up surveys and other tasks required by the Director of Career and Technical Education.

START DATE: 2021 - 2022 School Year
SALARY / STIPEND: Consistent with the 2021-2022 DPS Teacher Salary Scale, depending on experience and advanced degrees. In addition, the Danville School Board pays the employee cost in full, for state-mandated life insurance; and in part for state retirement and for health insurance. Other benefits include sick leave and personal leave.
