Title: SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PARAPROFESSIONAL
Qualifications: 1. All paraprofessionals must possess at least a Paraprofessional License issued by ISBE. In lieu of the Paraprofessional License, possessing a Substitute Teacher or Teacher Credential is acceptable.
In order to qualify for the Paraprofessional License, the applicant must possess:

Certification: Valid ISBE State Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide Approval
Reports to: Principal
Responsibilities: 1. Work in partnership with the principal and be part of the school improvement process
2. Oversee the cafeteria during lunch hours
3. Handle minor discipline issues involving peer mediation, detention, etc.
4. Coordinate all needs for buses (seating charts, arrival, dismissal, parent calls/concerns, bus evacuation drill, etc.)
5. Create duty schedules including but not limited to AM/PM, lunch duty, detention, T.S.P.E.
6. Create schedules for building-specific events (picture day, book fair, assemblies, etc.)
7. Assist principal with EDI duties (enrollment slips, busing, supplies, etc.)
8. Assist principal with the organization and implementation of state testing (PNPs, test tickets, material distribution, co-manage Pearson Access Next (PAN) system during assessment window, etc.)
**Testing includes but is not limited to: IAR, ISA, ACCESS, and locally given CogATs
9. Maintain textbook/workbook inventory
10. Create and maintain school-wide bulletin boards (in main entrance areas)
11. Work in collaboration with the principal and social worker on the introduction and maintenance of the Second Step program across all grade levels
12. Assist principal with school emergency drills (fire drills, tornado drills, lockdown drills)
13. Assist principal with maintenance of PowerSchool (parent access accounts, staff information, bus information, etc.)
14. Work all registration days
15. Other duties as assigned by the principal
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the District's Policy and Administrative Procedures regarding classified employee evaluation.
Salary: In accordance with the Negotiated Agreement between the Indian Springs School District #109 Board of Education and the Indian Springs School District #109 Paraprofessional Council, Local #571, IFT/AFT.
