Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Building Principal in accordance with the Board of Education's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate content area endorsement (TBE)
- Experience as a classroom teacher is preferred but not required

- Demonstrate support for the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123
- Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations, and administrative procedures
- Plan and implement instruction aligned with New Illinois Learning Standards and the WIDA English Language Development Standards
- Utilize Sheltered English instructional strategies throughout daily instruction to ensure student comprehension of the material
- Provide native language support when necessary and appropriate
- Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, students, parents, and the community in English and Spanish/Arabic as needed to meet professional standards
- Maintain and improve professional competence
- Apply student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction
- Evaluate students on a regular basis and provide reports as required
- Create a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and is age appropriate
- Participate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the contract and Board of Education
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
- Utilize technology to promote learning, creativity, collaboration
- Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job
