Certified Social Studies Teacher Grades 7-12, Probationary

The Pavilion Middle/High School is seeking a secondary social studies teacher for the 2021-22 school year. Pavilion Central School faculty and staff work in a small, rural, family-like setting that is located less than an hour away from either Rochester or Buffalo, which makes PCS not only A Great Place to Learn, but also A Great Place to Work!!

Job Description

• Prepare and teach Regents level Global History with lessons/units in accordance with NYS curriculum and standards
• Be eager and capable of teaching other social studies courses as needed.
• Adhere to IEP and 504 requirements
• Demonstrate abilities, which will enhance the school culture and climate through participation in committees, extracurricular activities and coaching
• Utilize technology to maximize instruction and learning, particularly the Google Platform
• Maintain and enhance regular collaboration with department members and team members
• Stay current in research-based instructional practices and pedagogy, assessment, curriculum, and NYS standards, NYS Regents examinations, and Response to Intervention
• Promote social emotional learning and restorative practices

Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Social Studies 7-12 required - provisional or permanent
• Fingerprint Clearance
