Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Student Services to provide oversight of the ESY Summer Program. In addition, the coordinator will provide guidance to the ESY staff and be able to replace staff in their absence. In collaboration with the Director of Student Services and the ESY staff, the program coordinator will monitor the implementatuon of the program curriculum, order necessary supplies, and monitor the success of the program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelors or Masters degree in special education required.
• MA Certified in either intensive or moderate special needs.
• Prior experience working with students with intensive special needs.
• Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 2-5 years experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with the Director of Student Services, the ESY Summer Program Coordinator will:
  • assist in the hiring of program staff
  • design program curriculum
  • order necessary supplies
  • travel to each of the program sites
  • manage the success of the program
  • work with parents and students as necessary
  • Such other qualifications as the Director of Student Services may deem acceptable or appropriate


COMPENSATION: In accordance with FEA contract, $35 per hour
