POSITION: Talent Acquisition Partner

REPORTS TO: Chief Talent Officer


PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for providing support to district divisions and/or programs for a wide variety of human resources activities; including the full cycle recruiting process (new hire onboarding/orientation, clearances, e-verify, university relations, position and job description management), retirement, terminations, teacher information management system (TIMS), and leave management. The Talent Acquisition Partner advises administrators and supervisors in all HR practices, provides information to employees about regulations, contract language, and policies, and provides general support. The Talent Acquisition Partner must be able to act independently and make decisions within regulated practices and procedures of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

TALENT AQUISITION:
  1. Coordinate recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees throughout the school district. This includes job posting, screening of resumes, interviewing, reference checking and offers of employment.
  2. Responsible for new-employee sign up process including comprehensive benefits review, employee contract/handbook review, I9, W4, and other new employee paperwork.
  3. Lead quarterly new employee orientation program.
  4. Coordinate with district leadership/hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
  5. Determine selection criteria.
  6. Source potential candidates through online channels (e.g. social platforms and professional networks).
  7. Plan interview and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments and virtual/in-person interviews.
  8. Assess candidate information, including resumes and contact details.
  9. Design and update job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position's requirements.
  10. Lead employer branding initiatives.
  11. Organize and attend job fairs (virtual and in-person) and recruitment events.
  12. Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by department.
  13. Build university relations program; foster and maintain relationships with colleges and universities.
  14. Manage background clearances and teacher certifications to ensure compliance.

LEAVE MANAGEMENT:
  1. Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, sabbaticals, unpaid leave, and FMLA.
  2. Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules.
  3. Ensure that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
  4. Handle FMLA leave administration process from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
  5. Oversee return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).
  6. Facilitate other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
  7. Support the benefits administration process to include claims resolution, change reporting, leave of absence administration and communicating benefit information to employees.
EMPLOYEE OFFBOARDING:
  1. Manage employee offboaring (i.e. terminations, resignations, and retirements).
  2. Conduct exit interviews.
  3. Develop effective retention strategies (i.e. stay interviews, satisfaction surveys).
Essential Job Skills:
  1. Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and HRMS systems.
  2. Strong understanding of HR processes and data.
  3. Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools.
  4. Excellent customer service skills to deal with a variety of employees, clients, and vendors.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  1. Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
  2. 1-3 years direct human resources experience
Professional or Other Required Certifications
  1. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred
