JOB SUMMARY: Plans, develops and revises curriculum to develop community awareness skills under supervision of Education Supervisor.

Hours are Monday through Friday 8am-4pm

The Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults - from birth to age 21 - with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral and emotional disorders. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community

Qualifications

To qualify, we require:

-Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Special Education preferred.

Have a valid Drivers License.

• Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor.
• Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.

Physical Requirements: Pre-employment physical required. Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending & standing required. Frequent planned, outside activities causing exposure to sunlight and heat. Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes. Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. Good manual dexterity.
