JOB GOAL
Provides leadership in managing and direct ing all financial operations of Harmony Public Schools in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and regulations and that represents a high degree of efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency; also serves as a resource to the management team and other stakeholders when decisions have a financial impact.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 3 years of professional or administrative experience
• Degree in Finance, Acco unting, Public Administ ration, or related field (preferred)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.
• Provides leaders hip in managing and directing all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, pay roll, purchasing, grants, etc.
• Develops and impleme nts financial processes to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Oversees and coordina tes annual budgets for all funds operated by Harmony Public Schools and monitors activity in those funds throughout the fiscal year in order to assure compliance
• Oversees, e stablish es and maintains an accounting system adequate to record transactions in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Oversees, e stablish es and maintains a payroll system that meets local, state, and federal regulations.
• Selects and maintains financial software for both centralized operations and individualized schools sufficient to process transactions in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Selects and maintains user- friendly financial reportin g software for budget managers within the organization so that they may monitor the status of their accounts in real time.
• Oversees, e stablish es and maintains a purchasing system that satisfies the requirements for procurement of goods and services.
• Oversees, e stablish es and maintains a system of controls over cash receipts, deposits, disbursements, and investments.
• Performs pre-audit function on all disbursements.
• Serves as the signatory person on all checks and purchase orders by Harmony Public Schools.
• Establish es a system of internal controls for financial operations sufficient to provide reasonable, but not absolute, assurance that accounts are properly stated.
• Establish es procedures to ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Oversees, e stablish es and maintains an internal audit program for the funds of the individual schools.
• Coor dinates annual independent financial and compliance audits of all a ccounts.
• P repares financial report s and presents them to executive team and boar d members.
• Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff, and makes recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
• Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.
• Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
• Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
• Moderate travel is required.
