Lake Forest Community High School District 115 is seeking a creative, experienced, engaging, full-time Choral Director for the 2021-2022 school year. The candidate should have a strong command of designing, delivering and assessing student growth in an environment that incorporates inquiry, feedback, critical thinking, and effective assessment practices for all students.

Essential Duties:

• Foster a creative, flexible, and enthusiastic environment that serves and inspires student engagement and learning.Exhibit a strong command of a breadth of world music and the value and contributions of a wide range of music and music forms.Expose students to a variety of music genres and types and engages students in the mechanics and the artful performance of them.Utilize flexibility, creativity, and initiative in curriculum creation and delivery.Maintain effective and open relationships with Administration, Board of Education, faculty/staff, parents, community members, Applause, and students.Organize and perform school concerts throughout the school year.Organize the LFHS Madrigal Singers and Bel Canto Singers during the first semester.Organize and successfully implement musical tours to Europe every two years, including fundraising (this depends on current pandemic travel restrictions).Maintain the LFHS Choral Music Library.Participate in all ILMEA District 7 and ILMEA All-State Festivals.Play an active role in our sending/feeder choral music programs.Consideration as facilitator for the LFHS Glee Club and "Varsity" Hand Bell Ensemble.Collaborate with the music department to continue to develop our Music Honor Credit Program.Maintain an active role with LFHS Applause, the music booster group.

Qualifications:

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Music endorsementMaster's Degree from an accredited program - preferred
