  • Reachable on an existing Dutchess County Human Resources Certification of Eligible List; or,
  • Currently working in, or previously held a Payroll Clerk civil service title.

    Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time 12-Month Payroll Clerk. This position involves responsibility for performing regularly scheduled payrolls. The interested applicant will be responsible for the entire payroll process through the distribution of funds to employees, banks and tax revenue agencies. This positon requires strong attention to detail and the investigation of and correction of payroll related errors and omissions.

    Typical Work may include but is not limited to the following:

    • Reviews, confirms and enters information into payroll systems , including hours, deductions, exemptions, garnishments, etc.;
    • Runs preliminary reports and registers to balance system and review for errors, runs final payroll and reports;
    • Completes forms and answers inquiries from financial institutions;
    • Enrolls employees into the proper retirement systems;
    • Reviews and confirms salary changes resulting from increments, longevities and changes in title or salary step;
    • Must be organized and able to work under strict time constraints
    • Other duties as required by department Administrator

    Job Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping, or;
    • Associate's degree and one (1) year of full time paid work experience maintaining financial accoungs and records, which involved the maintenance of payroll records, or:
    • Three (3) years of full time paid workexperiencemaintaining financial accounts and records, one (1) year of which involved the maintenance of payroll records, or;
    • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience as defined by the limits above
