Director of Information Technology

The Bensalem Township School District is seeking an experienced, highly qualified leader to fill the position of Director of Information Technology.

Our Bensalem Community

The Bensalem Township School District (BTSD) is located in southeastern Pennsylvania, in the county of Bucks, and is a northeastern suburb of Philadelphia. Bensalem Township is approximately 21 square miles with a population of 61,000 residents. Currently, the district is comprised of 9 schools: 6 elementary (Grades K-6); 2 middles (Grades 7-8); and 1 high school (Grades 9-12). Student enrollment district-wide is approximately 6,500 students.

Director of Information Technology Candidates

Applications are due on or before April 30, 2021, with the successful candidate to start on or before June 1, 2021.

Our ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of technology services for the district.
• Responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and maintenance of all computer services and technology as well as providing technical leadership regarding contemporary applications of computer technology used throughout the school district.
• Must be a strategic thinker with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a technical discipline such as computer science, information services, business, or related field required

Five or more years of direct technical and management experience

Experience managing, supporting, and deploying network, storage, and server infrastructure

Knowledge of best practices for system and information security

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google G-Suite, and other cloud software solutions

Experience with K-12 technology platforms preferred

Competency with disaster recovery and incident response design and implementation

Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as speaking and presentation skills

Previous experience with departmental budgeting and forecasting

Ability to provide training and professional development to diverse stakeholders

Experience with system documentation

District retains the right to waive educational requirements based on relevant experience and background

Compensation

A regionally competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate. This position reports to the Superintendent of Schools and is a 12-month, Act 93, Cabinet-level position.
