Teaching at Perry Street Prep
We are seeking an In-House Substitute to begin immediately. The ideal candidate will have classroom teaching experience, preferably within an urban school setting. The position will be in-person for the remainder of SY20-21.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The In-House Substitute provides coverage for teachers who are out of the classroom at any given time. The position will work across K-8 grade levels and subjects depending on the needs of the school at any given time. The In-House Substitute is responsible for the following:

• Implementing the curriculum and utilizing classroom routines and procedures with consistency
• Developing lesson plans, homework assignments and assessments
• Presenting academic content through a variety of instructional strategies to reach all learners
• Communicating and enforcing high expectations and standards for behavior and academic performance
• Participating in professional development to learn best practices in teaching Common Core standards.
• Forming and maintaining relationships with students and their families, including phone calls and conferences
• Abiding by the school's COVID-19 safety protocols at all times

Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma required; Associates degree or higher preferred
• Experience working with elementary and middle school students in an urban school setting preferred
• Possess a commitment to educating students for academic achievement and empowering students to make healthy lifestyle choices
• Believe in the capacity of every student for high academic achievement and a commitment to creating a highly-structured, effective, and fun learning environment
• Receptiveness to feedback and a desire to continuously improve
