Assistant Director of Information Services
Primary Functions (Job Goal)
Assist the Executive Director of Information Services and the Director of Information Services in the management and performance of all computer information systems as utilized in all areas of operation of the district.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Participates in the evaluation of district support staff as assigned by the Executive Director of Information Services, Assistant Executive Director of Information Services, or Director of Information Services
Qualifications / Local Requirements
? Bachelor's degree with at least five years of previous experience in support and design of computerized information systems.
? Experience and knowledge in data networking
? Technical knowledge and trouble shooting ability with regards to computer related
hardware and software.
? Experience with data information systems including all facets of student
information management.
? Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and
acceptable.
? Available to respond to critical troubleshooting tasks and other priority deadlines as
directed by the Executive Director of Information Services or Director of
Information Services.

? Generally the job requires sitting, walking, standing, and light physical assertion.

Essential Duties and Performance Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The competent Assistant Director of Information Services will:
? Demonstrate support for the Mission, Beliefs and Goals of District 30-C.
? Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations and administrative
procedures.
? Support, implement, promote and enhance the district's information services
systems and educational program through effective management practices.
? Assist the Director of Information Services in the management and performance of
all district data and information systems as utilized in the administrative and instructional operations of the district.
? Assist the Executive Director and Director of Information Services and fulfill his/her directives in the oversight and coordination of the work of the Technology Associates, the Technology Department work order process, and the timely completion of the repair and maintenance of district hardware and software.
? Assist the Executive Director and Director of Information Services in the management, supervision, installation, and maintenance of all computer hardware and software systems.
? Assist in the management of the district's hardware and software inventories;
including hardware inventory, hardware maintenance, software licenses, and maintenance contracts.
? Assist with the maintenance and development of various technology systems and
software, e.g., email system, anti-virus software, web page development, library information software, student data software, human resource data system, transportation system, help-desk/work-order systems, special education software, etc.
? Assist administration when necessary and requested.
? Attend local, county and/or state technology conferences, meetings or workshops,
when applicable.
? Serve on appropriate management committees and attend administrative meetings
as requested by the Executive Director or Director of Information Services.
? Provide assistance and action in a confidential capacity for the administration and
Board of Education in the formulation, review, and/or implementation of Board
Policies.
? Assist in the constant evaluation of the effectiveness of current information system operations with recommendations and plans for improvement which better meet the needs of the school system.
? Perform other duties as assigned.

Completion of mandated training through Global Compliance Network (GCN) FLSA Exempt
