    Title: Career Technical Education (CTE) Substitute Teacher
    Department: School Site
    Reports To: Principal
    Contract Length: April 2021 to June 10, 2021 and August 2021 to December 2021
    Salary Range: $30,604 to $44,836 depending upon experience and certification

    Purpose:
    In the absence of the regular teacher, the Career Technical Education (CTE) Substitute Teacher is responsible for teaching the students in person and online using the curriculum provided.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    * Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
    * The CTE Substitute Teacher will be teaching the following classes:
    o Intro to the Building Trades
    o Construction Safety and Tools
    o General Construction Application (2 sections)
    o Framing Floors and Walls (2 sections)

    * In addition, the CTE Substitute Teacher will need to complete training to become a Certified Craft Instructor. A Craft Instructor is an individual who has successfully completed the Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) conducted by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Master Trainer with current credentials and is authorized to teach the NCCER curriculum. Craft Instructors must meet the following qualifications:
    o Experience at a minimum journey or technician level in their area of expertise OR
    o A minimum of three year's experienced as a certified teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance-related training program
    o A Master Trainer may also serve as an instructor if they meet the above criteria and submit Form 101 and the ICTP information sheet
    o Must provide supporting documentation such as resume, certificates, and/or licenses
    o ZPSD will pay for the substitute teacher's ICTP.
    · Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
    · Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs
    · Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
    · Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls and in the cafeteria
    · Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
    · Perform any other related duties as assigned

    Skills and Qualifications:
    · A valid and current Substitute Teacher license
    · Bachelor's degree, preferably in education
    · Strong English verbal and written communication skills
    · Excellent interpersonal skills
    · Ability to lead and instruct students of all ages
    · General knowledge of several subjects
    · Ability to adapt plans to specific classrooms
    · Flexibility and critical-thinking skills
    · Patience
