The Madison Metropolitan School District is the second largest school district in Wisconsin. The district serves a beautifully diverse population of more than 27,000 students. More than half are students of color. Almost half come from low income households. Nearly one third are English Language Learners, and more than 100 languages are represented in our schools. About the Position
The school psychologist is a core member of the school's integrated pupil services team; this team works collaboratively, in partnership with teachers, administrators, families, and community organizations, to design and deliver a comprehensive, coordinated, and customized system of student supports. The primary purpose of this team is to create environments that maximize opportunities for learning and ensure that all students develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to achieve personal success as a college, career, and community ready individual.
As a member of the pupil services team, the school psychologist is an advocate for educational equity, promotes the healthy development of the whole child, and is a leader of systemic change within their school community.
At the core of integrated student services practices lie the following elements:

Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) pupil services license as a:
Salary Range
43,209.00 - 74,101.00 Annual Salary
Salary placement is based on two criteria:
1. Education (highest degree earned and academic credits earned after the date your highest degree was awarded)
2. Prior experience working under contract in a K-12 teaching position requiring a state teaching license
Minimum salary placement for new teachers with a Bachelor's degree and no prior teaching experience is $43,209 annually.

- Data-based decision making for planning, delivery, and evaluation of our programs and services Includes evaluations for special education eligibility.
- Communication, consultation, and collaboration with students, families, staff and community partners
- Advocacy and leadership to enable each student to be a healthy and successful learner
- Adhering to professional standards of respectful, confidential, individualized, developmentally appropriate, and culturally competent practice
- Staying current with professional learning to maintain and develop competency reflecting evidence-based best practice
- Special education evaluation and analysis/interpretation of assessment data
- Section 504 evaluation and case management
- Direct service delivery: social/emotional/behavioral interventions
- Participation/facilitation of student problem-solving meetings
- Facilitating data collection and analysis (e.g. social/emotional screening, functional behavioral analysis, violence risk assessment, designing behavioral intervention plans)
- Consultation with teachers relating to academic skills development and behavioral/emotional supports
- Serving as data resource to inform school-wide practices (e.g. School-Based Leadership Team)
- Family-school collaboration systems and supports
- Progress monitoring of interventions and evaluation of effectiveness
- Education in the foundations of developmental, educational, and behavioral psychology
- Education in statistics and ethical administration of assessments
- Capacity to serve on IEP teams as evaluator and/or LEA representative
- Experience with testing, assessment data analysis, report writing, and delivering results to teachers and parents
- Consultation and collaboration with parents and teachers
- Knowledge of diversity in development and learning
- Understanding of research fundamentals and program evaluation
- Sufficient foundational understanding of legal, ethical, and professional practice
