Position Summary: This position is a good opportunity for anyone who enjoys physical activity and teaching K-5. The PE teacher is responsible for fostering the concept of lifelong fitness in students.

Previous experience desired working on a team in a professional learning community and team teaching, integrated content, project-based instruction, and authentic and performance-based assessments. This position requires excellent communication skills and flexibility, as well as the ability to implement team-established structures in addition to school-wide policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in P.E., Health, or closely related subject.
• Valid Alaska teaching certificate, or the ability to get an Alaska teaching certificate upon hire.

Preferred Requirements:

• Master's degree in education desired.
• Recent experience teaching P.E./Health.

Compensation: Salary is dependent on experience and education. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision and the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan.

This position may be subject to non-continuing employment. Please refer to Article 12, section 3 of the JEA negotiated agreement.
