Job Description

The Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for Substitute School Monitors. This position involves responsibility for the routine supervision and care of school-age children as well as the maintenance of order and discipline in a school.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

• Patrolling playgrounds, school lobbies, and corridors;
• Maintaining order in hallways, study halls, dining areas, gymnasiums, etc.;
• Issuance and checking of passes;
• Intervenes in classroom confrontations and student fights if necessary, attempt to calm students removed from class for disciplinary reasons;
• May escort students to and from special appointments;
• Informs superiors of observations of student behavior;
• Related work as required.
