UX Analyst

Position S ummary ...

The UX Analyst will help turn data into actionable information that can be used to inform business and design decisions for our products and processes. They are a passionate advocate for how analytics and the resulting insights can identify actions and areas of opportunity that contribute to an exceptional partner experience.

The UX Analyst is a key member of the Partner Experience team and will lead the analytics program at NWEA as we incorporate greater use of quantitative data in our product and design processes. They will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to understand product goals, define the metrics, conduct analysis, and communicate findings.

Responsibilities ...

  • Help stakeholders interpret and understand data in reports and how to use that data to help make business decisions
  • Filter and clean up data, and review existing reports, dashboards, and performance indicators in order to modify, enhance and develop new reports
  • Elicit requirements, design, and build dashboards and reports
  • Create and maintain analytics documentation, document changes, and incorporate new processes as they are created
  • Evaluate analytics processes for improvements (report request process, reports catalog maintenance process)
  • Communicate analytics progress and achievements across the organization, identify appropriate communication channels and eliminate communication gaps
  • Lead the analytics program for the product, design, and engineering teams
  • Create information and content for multiple audiences and determine the appropriate channels for the content
  • Engage staff through innovative, attention-getting, consistent and reliable communications that support business objectives
  • Lead and coordinate analytics training to educate staff on best usage of analytics data
  • Support value streams to incorporate analytics into their product areas
  • Provide implementation and troubleshooting support as analytics is operationalized across the organization
  • Be an active leader and contributor in the Analytics Community of Practice
  • Keep up to date with analytics software capabilities and best practices, apply them in daily work, and communicate updates to staff


  • Build and maintain relationships with analytics vendors, representing the organization and its needs
  • Ensure data destruction and security processes are adhered to

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to pull data out of organizational repositories and data sources to derive insights
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals
  • Proficient at report design a nd presenting clear and succinct findings
  • Proficient at translating and creating visualizations of data in a concise and accurate way that's easy to digest
  • Proficient with continuous improvement practices, regularly assessing the effectiveness of processes and procedures, and recommending improvements
  • Proficient in Agile software development practices, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Ability to organize time effectively, determine priorities, and move work forward
  • Ability to create usable timelines and milestones for projects

Education and E xperience ...

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of business analytics, business analysis, management information systems or computer science is preferred; or an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of three years' experience providing reporting or process support for a large team
  • Understanding of the practice of business analytics and industry standards
  • Pre-existing knowledge of NWEA's core business highly desirable
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting; familiarity with database queryin g
