Serves as a liaison between APS, students, outside agencies and courts to promote a healthy educational environment for students. Organizes programs, group sessions and other social services to educate the APS community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Organizes programs for students, parents and staff pertaining to child abuse, resource development and other educational issues.
Acts as a liaison between students and APS by administering conferences, home visits and additional activities.
Interviews students and relatives to obtain the student's historical information regarding medical, social and emotional conditions.
Contacts state and local authorities for child abuse issues, student behavior problems and any criminal activities concerning the student.
Maintains and updates records to ensure accurate information and data.
Attends workshops and seminars to continue to improve skills and learn about current issues affecting students.
Organizes group sessions for students, parents and APS staff to discuss problems and issues.
Administers and/or supports the state and local standardized testing process and policies.
Requirements :
EDUCATION: Master's Degree required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: S5 Certification in Social Work
WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 to 3 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Ability to make recommendations or decisions which usually affect the assigned department, but may at times affect others outside of the assigned department; ability to analyze and use independent judgment
Compensation :
SALARY GRADE: IS4-IS6
SALARY RANGE: APS Salary Schedules
(Individuals holding a T/L 7 certificate will receive a $2, 000 supplement above the T/L 6 salary placement)
