Job Description
Northwest Elementary School
We are recruiting for an Assistant at our Northwest School site for the afterschool Tapestry program. We are seeking applicants with a passion for helping children succeed, complemented by the knowledge, skills, and experience to support children and families and to work with peer staff to promote best practices for environment and interactions supportive of social and emotional growth and development.
ACTIVITY / GROUP ASSISTANT: Assist with implementation of enrichment activities under the direction of the Group Leader and Site Coordinator. Provide children and youth oversight, coaching, and support in a healthy and safe learning environment, and on the bus transport home. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and experience working with children in the public school or a child care setting that meets CDD/VAE/school standards.
Anticipated Schedule: 2.5-3 hours per day; 5 days each week. The afterschool program follows the school calendar. The Tapestry Program also anticipates running summer programming for 6-7 weeks.
Pay Rate: $12.75 per hour.
All candidates must meet CDD, VAE, and local qualifications. All candidates must pass fingerprint and background checks.
