Qualifications: Appropriate Wyoming PTSB Certification
Reports To: Building Principal(s) and Director of Special Services
Job Goal: To provide quality instructional services to children with disabilities according to the child's Individual Educational Program.
Performance Responsibilities:
(In addition to the duties of a regular education teacher, the following responsibilities also apply.)
Teachers in the following classrooms are required to maintain their CPR/First Aide certification; this will be paid for by the Special Education Department:
Extended Learning Resource Room
ACE Room
IDEAL Room
Other teachers may be requested or required to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aide certifications as necessitated by the students in their classrooms. If this is the case, training will be paid for by the Special Education Department.
Terms of Employment: Designated by contract.
Evaluation: The building principal shall evaluate this position.

Performance Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and evaluate specific students' needs as needed or requested.
- Design appropriate goals, objectives and timelines for appropriate special education services for eligible students.
- Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities within the district curriculum as well as the Individualized Education Program for the student.
- Monitor and document student progress and communicate progress with appropriate students, staff, parents, and other members of the school based team(s).
- Complete and submit in a professional and timely manner appropriate academic evaluations as assigned.
- Collaborate with regular classroom teachers, other specialty teachers, and related service providers in the development of a variety of strategies to meet the educational needs of special education students.
- Follow time schedules, attend and participate in all assigned meetings, and maintain a positive professional manner with students, parents, and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality standards as defined by local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties assigned from time to time by supervisor(s).
