The Opportunity
The Vice President of Corporate Development and Operations (VP) will play a key role in developing and implementing SESI's growth strategy. Reporting to SESI's President and partnering with SESI's field operations and other functional leaders, the VP will lead the development of division-level initiatives and policies designed to ensure SESI meets its division and organizational goals, mission, and vision. To accomplish this, the VP will plan, direct, and coordinate activities across SESI and will work with a small team to manage several projects including, but not limited to, new program development, acquisition engagement and integration.

A strategic, motivated, energized, and experienced operations leader. You excel at setting rigorous goals and putting in place the systems to backwards plan, collect data, and progress monitor. You are a strong relationship builder who can drive change management, specifically around compliance, accountability, and consistency of policies and practices.
The Responsibilities
  • Define, implement, monitor, and report on operations strategy, structure, and processes.
  • Formulate policies, ensure implementation of best-practices, manage certain daily operations and plan for efficient utilization of division resources.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations; develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and associated reporting; use financial and operational data to make informed business decisions.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and attend industry events to stay abreast of new initiatives and ways to stay ahead; recognize organizational threats and opportunities and create, implement, and monitor action plans.
  • Coordinate with department managers in shared services and across field operations to reach organization's goals and ensure effective, efficient operations; collaborate with field teams to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.
  • Evaluate performance of the division in meeting objectives and determine opportunities for increased efficiency and greater consistency.
  • Schedule and create work assignments and oversee division projects.
  • Take corrective action to solve division problems; tackle unforeseen issues, troubleshoot, support field teams to resolve problems quickly as they arise.
  • Manage division-wide initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for various projects. Examples of such initiatives are:
    • Develop and lead growth activities, including:
      • Developing new schools (greenfields)
      • Participating in acquisition target identification and subsequent diligence and integration
      • Partnering with National Enrollment Director to maximize capacity utilization in schools
      • Supporting other new business proposals through enhanced proposal and pricing strategies.
    • Coordinate with shared services compliance department to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of all SESI contracts, federal, state, and local laws, and shared services policies and procedures
    • Design, create and implement a functional KPI dashboard allowing field teams greater insight into business opportunities/areas for improvement
  • Identify opportunities for organizational consistency of best-practices and implement a plan to ensure SESI-wide accountability (i.e., student handbooks, use of materials/curriculum, centralized recruiting, etc.
  • Maintain appropriate and regular communication with shared services and field leaders.
  • Communicate regularly with and provide needed information to supervisors and peers.
The Qualifications
  • 10+ years of operations and project management experience; track record as an effective team leader with an understanding of management practices.
  • Master's degree in business administration, education, or other related fields from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Proven strategic planning and budgeting experience; ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience setting, monitoring, and meeting goals.
  • Strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, analytical problem-solving skills with attention to detail, an entrepreneurial attitude, ability to collaborate and build consensus.
Other requirements
  • Position will require travel throughout the United States.
  • Position will have a strong focus on growth, implementation, and integration.
  • Extensive training on company programming models and associated compliance required.
  • Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. This is a remote position with travel required to school-sites, regional offices, conferences, or other events.
