Little Leaves Behavioral Services provides high quality, critical early intervention programs designed to nurture the growth and development of young children with social, behavior, and/or language challenges. Little Leaves provides a range of in-home, at-school, and clinic-based ABA services for children with developmental delays, especially Autism Spectrum Disorders in Northern VA, the DC metro area, the Baltimore metro area and Ft Lauderdale area in FL.
The Little Leaves is a center-based ABA program for young children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder run in a preschool-like setting. The Little Leaves Center Program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5 pm. During the day, children have the opportunity to participate in individual therapy time, small group activities with peers, and activities of daily living. While many clients are at Little Leaves for the full day, an individualized schedule is developed for each child based on his/her therapeutic needs. Little Leaves currently has centers in Silver Spring, MD; Reston, VA; Alexandria, VA; Germantown, MD; White Marsh, MD and Weston, FL.

Behavior Technician Role:
Behavior Technicians are critical members of a child's therapy team. They deliver the majority of a child's individualized therapy hours based on the plans and protocols developed by the Supervising Behavior Analyst and collect data on a child's progress.
Reports to: Center Director
Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 ABA therapy with client(s) with autism spectrum disorders in the Little Leaves Center
  • Shadow client(s) 1:1 to facilitate learning in groups
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that clients receive the highest quality therapy
  • Follow specific protocol for each client and implement individualized ABA programs consistently
  • Collect data throughout each session in a timely and efficient manner
  • Create program materials for individual clients as needed
  • Report client progress to supervisor
  • Attend periodic team meetings
  • Participate in introductory and ongoing training programs that provide instruction in ABA
  • Be energetic, creative, and imaginative when working with children who have developmental delays Keep therapy appointments as per schedule
  • Be punctual and responsible
  • May provide some therapy sessions at home or in community-based settings
Desired Qualifications:
  • We are seeking a professional with a commitment and enthusiasm to helping children and families
  • The ideal candidate would be drug-free, reliable, efficient, and have a strong work ethic
  • Bachelors or Associates (or the equivalent credit hours) in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or related field, required
  • Commitment to earning a Registered Behavior Technician credential within 90 days of hire including a willingness to sit for RBT exam (training and supervision provided by Little Leaves)
  • Experience working with children with special needs, e g , autism or developmental delays (at least 1 year experience) strongly preferred
  • Ability to follow instructional guidance and to follow ABA programs
  • Ability to interact well with children, families and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a therapy team member
  • Ability to work well independently and seek assistance when needed
  • Possess strong attention to detail for data collection
  • Organized, flexible and willing to take constructive feedback and apply it to improve the quality of programming and one's own professional development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to maintain client confidentiality
  • Record of success in previous positions as evidenced by excellent references
  • Technologically adept and enthusiastic
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift children up to 40 lbs, and able to complete the physical demands of the job (frequent sitting and standing, kneeling, running with children, etc.)
Compensation:
  • $20/hour
  • Full-time position (30-40 hours/week)
