Little Leaves Behavioral Services provides high quality, critical early intervention programs designed to nurture the growth and development of young children with social, behavior, and/or language challenges. Little Leaves provides a range of in-home, at-school, and clinic-based ABA services for children with developmental delays, especially Autism Spectrum Disorders in Northern VA, the DC metro area, the Baltimore metro area and Ft Lauderdale area in FL.
The Little Leaves is a center-based ABA program for young children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder run in a preschool-like setting. The Little Leaves Center Program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5 pm. During the day, children have the opportunity to participate in individual therapy time, small group activities with peers, and activities of daily living. While many clients are at Little Leaves for the full day, an individualized schedule is developed for each child based on his/her therapeutic needs. Little Leaves currently has centers in Silver Spring, MD; Reston, VA; Alexandria, VA; Germantown, MD; White Marsh, MD and Weston, FL.

Behavior Specialist Role:
A Behavior Specialist in the Little Leaves center facilitates the individual therapy and group activities for a caseload of ABA therapy clients. The Behavior Specialist also mentors a team of Behavior Technicians through coaching and structured guidance, and conducts some individual therapy with clients. The Behavior Specialist works closely with the Supervising Behavior Analysts to prepare develop programs, create materials for therapy, and graph data for review and decision making. The Behavior Specialist acts as a liaison across all members of a child's clinical and family team
Reports to: Center Director
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate group activities in a ABA clinic setting
  • Monitor, support, and coach Behavior Technicians assigned to each caseload ensuring all treatment plans are being run effectively and as intended
  • Support the Supervising Behavior Analyst in developing programs and materials
  • Conduct 1:1 ABA therapy with clients as needed
  • Follow treatment protocol and collect data
  • Act as a liaison between the parents and the full clinical team to ensure consistency and clear communication
  • Meet regularly with Supervising Behavior Analysts to discuss caseload and client progress
  • Prepare weekly reviews of graphed data to facilitate case reviews and presentations
  • Provide hands on training for new staff
  • Assist the Supervising Behavior Analysts with hands on parent training
  • Manage and organize therapy materials and data
  • Provide an effective working environments for the Behavior Technicians
  • Assist the Supervising Behavior Analysts with conducting assessments
  • Promote a positive culture and team environment within the clinic
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in education or a human services field (psychology, social work, etc) required
  • Registered Behavior Technician or equivalent credential required (unless a higher level credential or training is possessed)
  • A BCaBA or enrollment in coursework leading to a BACB certification preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience providing ABA services to individuals with developmental delays /autism
  • Ability to train staff and parents, some experience preferred
  • Ability to supervise and coach therapist, some experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience with shadowing individuals in a group setting using ABA methodology, preferred
  • Experience with developing lesson plans or coordinating group activities with individuals with disabilities, preferred
  • Ability to follow instructional guidance and to follow ABA programs
  • Ability to interact well with children, families and colleagues Ability to work collaboratively as a therapy team member
  • Ability to work well independently and seek assistance when needed
  • Possess strong attention to detail for data collection and report writing
  • Organized, flexible and willing to take constructive feedback and apply it to improve the quality of programming and one's own professional development
  • Able to maintain client confidentiality
  • Record of success in previous positions as evidenced by excellent references
  • Technologically adept and enthusiastic
