The Teacher Trainer is responsible for creating a professional development path for the school based on the school’s and teachers’ individual needs. This role will be responsible for new teacher induction and ongoing teacher support.

Instructional
  • Coordinates with school leaders to develop a year-long professional development needs analysis
  • Prepares Face to Face (F2F) and virtual professional development opportunities the school. Schedules and coordinates appropriate presenters, conducts training when needed
  • Collaborates with the national Talent and Development Team as needed
  • Partners with the hiring manager to ensure that positions are filled and onboarded on the first day of the hire;
  • Trains all new and returning teachers in platforms, curriculum modification, and systems.
  • Assesses effectiveness of school-based trainings and presents the results to stakeholders
  • Designs and executes face to face New Teacher Training Induction, both at school launch and as needed for mid-year hires
  • Serves as a “super user” for school-wide curriculum or systems changes
  • Creates opportunities for new teachers to job shadow experienced teachers from the same subject area/ grade level
  • Hosts live CC Basics training (which trains teachers how to utilize virtual classroom tools and how to effectively engage their students) and other virtual trainings based on need;
  • Manages collaborative space where new teachers will share best practices, participate in discussions, participate in problems of practice;
  • Designs a schedule to ensure new teachers are receiving weekly support from a variety of sources, including principal and mentors
  • Builds a community for teachers to collaborate and connect
  • Participates in committees as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree AND
  • Five (5) years of related experience in virtual teaching OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience

Certificates and Licenses:
  • State Teaching Certification

Other Required Qualifications:
  • Understanding of effective training methodologies
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel; Web proficiency.
  • Ability to pass required background check

Desired Qualifications:
  • Professional Training Certification
