Position Summary:

Essential Duties:
- Monitors and implements strategies to improve daily student attendance.
- Monitor and improve teacher-take attendance percentages.
- Analyzes data to identify student absentee patterns.
- Serves as a school representative with the court system in reference to student attendance.
- Serves as a liaison between the school and the community to increase student attendance rates. Provides targeted follow-up with parents/guardians to mitigate issues impacting attendance.
- Responsible for teacher daily take rate.
- Attends Judicial Court in attendance cases.
- Develops partnership with APD Truancy Sweep Unit.
- Works with the school social worker to increase student attendance.
- Understands and directs school personnel according to APS Attendance Policy. Administers and supports the local and state attendance policies, including the Georgia Compulsory Attendance Policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
- Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
Requirements :
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, education or a related field
CERTIFICATION:
- Georgia Teacher or Leader certification or social work license preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE:

At least 5 years of work experience in a similar role/setting. Must have some experience in providing services to school aged children and/or families, preferably in an urban setting.
