    SUMMARY: Provide effective instructional leadership that focuses on student achievement. Guide the development of a caring collaborative community that includes all stakeholders in the school. Provide purpose and vision for the school. Manage the human and financial resources to ensure a positive learning environment.

    Job Tasks Descriptions:
    1. Lead the school with a clear focus, communicating your vision for the school, and being the change agent for instructional improvement.
    2. Articulate Effective Instructional practices, and have knowledge of current state standards and district guaranteed and viable curriculum.
    3. Assess quality of classroom instruction by monitoring, being visible, conducting Walk Throughs regularly, communicating, and providing a clear behavior structure and academic atmosphere.
    4. Align instruction with state and district standards, use the district evaluation system, provide expectations for an orderly atmosphere, hold data discussions with staff and teachers, and adapt to the needs of the current situation by seeking input from school and district staff.
    5. Establish and foster an adult learning environment by maximizing collaboration and adult learning to improve instruction, providing teachers with materials, inspiring new and challenging innovations, and valuing a sense of community.
    6. Organize school operations around improvement of instruction by maintaining a safe and orderly environment, upholding state laws, and District Policies, managing personnel, maintaining facility to provide a quality learning environment, efficiently managing financial resources, establishing effective public relationships, and coordinating effective instructional programs with a master schedule.
    7. Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
    • Master's degree in Education Administration plus additional course work required for CDE principal license.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in teaching/administration, including a minimum of three years of teaching.
    • District Classified Evaluation System, Progressive Discipline, required within one year after entering position.
    • Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, disciplining, terminating, directing work, assigning work, training and evaluating preferred.

    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
    • CDE Secondary principal license.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
    • Excellent interpersonal relations and oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage conflict.
    • Classroom experience necessary.
    • Ability to apply educational research and analyze instructional data.
    • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction, budgeting and accounting, special education laws and master agreement/labor relations.
    • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, District policies, building and Learning Services procedures.
    • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and
    educational backgrounds. Willingness to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment.
    • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and address unsafe conditions.

    MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:
    • Proficient Google
    • General office equipment
    • Microsoft Office applications.
    • Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, disciplining, terminating, directing work, assigning work, training and evaluating.
    • Types and numbers of Paraeducators and Teachers vary depending on building assignment.
    • IC - Ability to use and train others to use Infinite Campus

    BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY:
    • Manages school budget in areas of certified and classified personnel, materials and supplies budget, and educational programs/materials.
    • Sole responsibility for developing, administering, and monitoring budget.

    SALARY INFORMATION:
    The salary listed is for full time positions (1.0 FTE) making $10,000 paid in 2 separate payments. Position is from March 1, 2021 to August 31, 2021. Administrative employees' salary will be commensurate on the employees' education and/or work experience.
