Brief Description The PBIS Consulting Teacher is responsible for providing support in the implementation and evaluation of the PBIS framework to schools across the division. The position is also responsible for designing and delivering high-quality professional learning to school staff and leaders in the areas of instruction, intervention, and progress monitoring strategies to support the use of evidence-based practices in schools.

Detailed Description The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate:
* Teaches, models, facilitates, and builds capacity to utilize research-based best practices within the school's PBIS framework to support student learning.
* Supports schools through a model of consultation and collaboration with teams and administrators.
* Collects and analyzes division-level data to identify trends in the areas of screening, progress monitoring, and instructional practices as well as formative and summative PBIS assessments.
* Plans and delivers professional learning to support the framework of PBIS and division-wide goals.
* Serves as a member of the division-level PBIS Coordination Team.

Job Requirements * Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
* Holds or is eligible for a VDOE license
* Demonstrated successful teaching experience and participating on a PBIS team or serving as a PBIS Coach
* Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for building strong rapport and relationships with teachers and administrators
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Uses a team approach and collaboration to accomplish tasks and promote collaboration to improve instruction and student learning

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Itinerant travel is required, and the employee is frequently required to change locations and adapt to multiple environments across schools and offices. Ability to drive and navigate to multiple locations occasionally within a single day is required.
