Role Mission: The English Language Learner (ELL) Manager will oversee Bilingual and ESL programming at a national level for IDEA Public Schools. This includes overseeing instructional programming for our ELL students, maintaining required documentation, and overseeing the district Title III grant funding to ensure accurate and appropriate spending by campuses.

Accountabilities

Maintain 100% compliance of state and federal guidelines for ELL students
  • Coordinate with Powerschool team to ensure accurate PEIMS coding for our ELL population
  • Create and implement an auditing system by which all ELL documentation is kept in the ELLevation online platform to pass internal/external audits
  • Establish business partnerships with campus ELL point people across all regions for documentation accountability
  • Assist in gathering personnel ESL and Bilingual certification data in order to submit our annual ESL/Bilingual waiver


15% increase in students' Reading and Writing STAAR scores to "meets" or "exceeds expectations" levels
  • Collaborate with English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum managers to ensure English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) strategies are incorporated in lessons
  • Collect and report out data on ELL student academic performance on Assessments to share out with regional leaders on a regular basis
  • Creat e training resources to share with campus ELL point - people for campus -level professional development implementation


Project planning of d istrict wide implementation of Beginning of Year, Middle of Year, and End of Year LPAC meetings and TELPAS assessments
  • Collaborat e with the Assessment team on a consistent basis to determine roles and responsibilities as it pertains to ELL assessments
  • Create and c oordinate training and support for campus ELL point-people to ensure LPACs are completed effectively and by campus, district, or state deadlines
  • Cr e ate and hold e ffective monthly webinars for campus ELL point people across all regions to provide ongoing support
  • Plan and implement annual Spring TELPAS training


60% of ELL students will advance 1 or more levels on TELPAS
  • Create training resources on the P erformance Level Descriptor s in reading, writing, listening, and speaking to share with campus ELL point - people
  • Coordinat e and support regional and campus-based TELPAS trainings in all Texas regions
  • Report on ELL - focused data for all Reading and Writing assessments to track progress towards goals

Management of
the Lower Valley Regional ELL Interventionist role in its pilot year
  • Coach and support the R egional ELL I nterventionist in meeting his/ her instructional and compliance goals
  • Complete f ield observations and provide feedback to Regional ELL Interventionist in order to increase his/her effectiveness and progress towards goals
  • Establish business partnership with regional leaders to define the targeted support needed to best prioritize Interventionist's time and resources

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years teaching experience; experience with English Language Learners
  • Licenses or Certifications (if applicable):


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with ELL students
  • Familiarity with LPAC and TELPAS processes and Performance Level Descriptors


Compensation:

Salaries for this role typically fall between $58,884 and $75,077 , commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
