Intermediate District 287 is looking for Licensed Behavior Intervention Specialists like you for a District Wide opening for FALL 2021!

Intermediate District 287 is a west metro district for learners with unique needs. As an intermediate district, we provide specialized services, primarily setting IV special education, to students from 11 member districts in the west metro.

What Makes Us Special:

  • We are a trauma-informed district. We take into account past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors and best serve our students.
  • There is a variety of support services in each school including School Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialists and Student Safety Coaches. All of whom are student-centered and focused on building relationships with each child.
  • Small class sizes - typically 6-8 students per class

Position Details:

  • This position may be available at any one of the following sites:
    • Ann Bremer Education Center - Brooklyn Park, MN
    • North Education Center - New Hope, MN
    • West Education Center - Minnetonka, MN
    • South Education Center - Richfield, MN


Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: $43,290 - $88,028 DOE and E
  • BCBA Certification may be eligible for a $3000 signing bonus!!

Requirements:

  • Interested in candidates who are: diverse, bilingual, or have experience working with diverse populations.
  • Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or related field and moderate experience working in a job related field.
  • Requires Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA - Nationally certified), or in the process of obtaining the certification.
  • Must be trained in district-approved positive behavioral strategies used to prevent and deescalate behavior or agree to complete the training within a designated time frame.
