The Special Education Assistant will work under the supervision of a Certified Special Education Teacher and provide support by assisting students.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure all necessary worksheets are copied for class instruction.
2. Assist in developing lesson plans.
3. Assist students in completing instructional assignments.
4. Work in small groups with students to provide specialized assistance.
5. All other duties as assigned

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
1. State of Illinois Paraprofessional License
2. Ability to read, write and speak English
3. Bilingual a plus
Preferred Experience
1. Prior Paraprofessional experience
Additional Qualifications:
1. Possession of a valid TB test and health examination issued by the local county board of health or recognized medical authority
2. Fingerprint Background Check
