Description
Qualifications
- Work with the Chief of Schools, Chief of Instruction, Chief of Transformation & Innovation and other executive leaders to design, develop and implement major technology systems for schools and business offices
- Collaborate with division and departmental leaders to understand evolving instructional technology needs, specify solution requirements and develop product roadmaps
- Plan and lead high profile technology programs, such as Operation Connectivity, Unified Enrollment, Hybrid Virtual School, etc.
- Demonstrate how technology innovation can drive the organization's goals and objectives
- Lead the development, implementation, adoption and support of major instructional delivery and content systems
- Provide consultation, technical assistance, and outstanding support to school campuses and administrative departments
- Develop innovative data products to measure student outcomes and performance
- Ensure compliance with state data reporting requirements
- Recruit and retrain the best and brightest technology support teams for campuses
- Communicate with students, staff, and parents regarding technology services and issues
- Engage internal and external stakeholders in efforts to build consensus regarding priorities for educational technology resources
- Develop and manage program, project, captial, and operating budgets
- Represent Dallas ISD technology leadership within various task forces and committees
- Develop policies and procedures and ensure appropriate use and adoption of technology resources to the user community and technology staff
- Manage, direct and assign priorities and personnel to major projects to ensure attainment of district and department strategic goals and objectives
- Develop professional development plans to ensure the ongoing growth of team members
- Scan the marketplace for new technology and business trends that affect education.
- Run education technology experiments, helping to create new products and services and integrate the best of these into production operations for the District
- Guide and advise stakeholders about emerging technologies and trends
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, computer science, business administration, or comparable. Master's degree preferred
- Ten years of education technology leadership experience, including a minimum of five years developing, implementing, and supporting student information systems, learning management systems, instructional applications, and data analytics products.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the campus learning environment and use of technology in learning
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware, peripheral equipment, software applications, networking, applications development and system implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the developments and trends in education technologies, digital learning, enterprise information systems and their application in K-12 education, research methods, techniques, and statistics.
- Ability to find new and innovative approaches to performing the business at hand.
- Experience leading large distributed teams and large administered budgets
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage the strengths and unique perspectives of others within the organization and to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to reach a solution.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information, procedures, and requirements to technical and non-technical users.
