    COMPUTER EDUCATION / IT TEACHER (Gr. 6-8)
    GIRLS WHO CODE SUMMER PROGRAM

    Geraldine Claytor Magnet School
    Part-time hourly position (20 hours per week)

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide computer science instruction within its relevancy to coding.
    • Provide STEM related instruction as it relates to grade appropriate Engineering skills.
    • Manage Student Tutors and assist with preparations for showcasing students' projects and presentations.
    • Designs lessons that provide opportunity for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills in relation to authentic, real-world problems.
    • Establishes and maintains standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships among students.
    • Encourages, secures and maintains the involvement of parents and other community members in support of instruction and to ensure successful course completion
    • Involves parents in the assessment of their children's progress and needs
    • Maintain Bridgeport Public Schools Code of Conduct for all program participants.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Teacher's Certification in any endorsement
    • Experience teaching web design tools preferred
    • Experience in the use of educational technology
    • Excellent oral and written communication and human relation skills

    Special Requirements: Proficient in CS (Web Design and Computer Science)

    SALARY:
    Part-time hourly rate: $38.50
    Hours a week: 20
    Total weeks: 4
