Data Analyst - Division of Research, Accountability & Assessment - Contractual

CLASS TITLE : Data Analyst - Division of Research, Accountability & Assessment (Contractual)

REPORTS TO: Director - Performance Management

DEFINITION : Supports the analysis and reporting of quantitative and qualitative system data. Adheres to quality assurance protocols. Maintains confidential information. Performs duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :
  • Preparing data for analysis through techniques including but not limited to data cleaning, recoding, restructuring, scrubbing for duplicates, standardizing data, merging and aggregating data sets.
  • Conducting statistical analysis of data in response to system priorities and identified research questions. Data analyses will include but are not limited to:
    • Descriptives: frequencies, measures of central tendency.
    • Inferential: t-tests, chi-squares, ANOVA, multiple linear regression, logistic regression.
  • Creating data visualizations (e.g. graphs, bar charts, etc.) and summarizing data with consideration for non-technical audiences.
  • Performing rigorous quality control checks on work products to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education, Training and Experience :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in data analysis and statistics.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of educational research, measurement, assessment, and testing.
  • Skilled in data analysis including data cleaning, data manipulation, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Preferred: SQL, SPSS, STATA, Microsoft Excel.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
Work of this position generally sedentary and performed in an office environment.

SALARY : $38.97 per hour/contractually

Factors such as passage of time since the offense, the nature of the violation, and the extent of rehabilitation will be taken into consideration.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (State of Maryland, Senate Bill 315, effective October 1, 1986) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $81.00. An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
  • If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
