Role Mission:  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be at the heart of a strategic shift in how the fastest growing public charter school district develops the skill and content expertise of our teachers and leaders through setting vision for best practice replication across teaching and leading at IDEA Public Schools. 

This individual draws on a wealth of experience teaching and leading in schools to be able to find, capture, curate, evaluate, and disseminate the best of our teachers and leaders at IDEA.  This will include, but is not limited to, creating a scalable technology solution for our archive of professional development resources.  This role will work closely with the highest performing teachers and leaders across the network to translate their knowledge, skills, and mindsets into resources that can be used to replicate their impact.

 In order to disseminate the best practices, this individual will partner closely with the Principal Preparation Team, the Professional Development Team, as well as Schools Team, Academic Services Team, Information Technology, and the TSLIP (Teacher and School Leader Incentive Program) Grant Team.  This role requires a visionary leader who excels in an ambiguous, upstart environment, with a talent for change management.  Role is grant-funded through Fall 2023.  

 

Accountabilities:

 
Set vision for best practice replication across IDEA Campuses
  • Set vision and strategy for how to capture and disseminate best practices across the organization, such that gaps in effectiveness across employee groups are diminished.
  • Partner with teams across IDEA Public Schools (Academic Services, Schools, Operations, and Campuses) to set strategy for finding, curating, and disseminating best practices which align to the recommendations of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Rapidly prototype multiple strategies for collection, evaluation, and sharing to identify most impactful processes to scale. This may include, but is not limited to interviews, rich media, documents, interactive platforms, on-demand professional development sessions, and a searchable resource archive.


 
Teacher and Leader Effectiveness (in support of District A-Rating, Great Places to Work Results, Staff Retention)
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify best practices of high performers and targeted gaps in skills of low performers
  • Partner with Schools Team, Academic Services, Human Assets, and Operations to develop a priority sequence for development of highest-leverage best practices.
  • Meet specific annual quantitative goals aligned to increases in teacher and leader effectiveness on teaching and leadership rubrics and in goal attainment


 
Strategic Vision for Creation and Execution of The Library
  • Set vision for how teachers and leaders will engage with a digital resource library to assure quality content curation in alignment with intended outcomes. This includes designing a pre-production, production, and post-production process for capturing high-quality content that aligns with industry standards.
  • Create vision and strategy for high user engagement, ensuring an exceptional brand reputation of The Library, that leads to a reliable, effective, and up-to-date tool that is an enduring institution for all teachers and leaders at IDEA Public Schools.
  • Work in partnership with all leadership development stakeholders to define and communicate a strategy that demonstrates how digital content production will be prioritized and can be created, deployed, measured and refined to increase the skills of our school leaders, so that we increase student achievement


 
Exceptional Engagement of users and Subject Matter Experts within IDEA (as measured by click rates, net promoter score)
  • Build and maintain systems to assure an excellent net promotor score on all systems, processes, and resources while maintaining high-volume-of traffic to highest-leverage offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subject matter experts across the organization such that all best practice exemplars are reinforced in all network wide resources from each related department.


 
Team Leadership
  • Develops accountabilities for, recruits, hires, and manages team of content creators including a designer and videographer to produce high-quality, highly effective, and highly-demanded content
  • Ensures that team is measuring and evaluating content quality on an ongoing basis and using research and data to ensure content effectiveness via student achievement impact, goal attainment of leaders, and efficiency of development along the career pathway continuums.
  • Be an influential voice for best practices in video and rich media content development strategy, user experience, design, and technology and be passionate about the role these can play in improving the skill and content expertise of our teachers and leaders.

  • Willingness to learn new concepts and methodologies, and apply quickly to new scenarios

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years campus leadership experience (e.g., instructional coach, teacher manager, campus administrator, etc.) and 2+ years teaching required
  • Principal experience and/or System-level leadership experience preferred
  • Video production experience required
  • Bachelor's Required/Master's Preferred
  • 40% Travel Expected

Compensation

Salaries for people entering this role typically start between $85,000 and $106,000, commensurate with relevant qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational goal attainment.
