    GENERAL STATEMENT

    The Title I Tutor accepts responsibility for providing tutoring in math and/or literacy using research-based intervention programs to elementary level students at the school site/virtually. Tutors will be expected to conduct synchronous virtual courses while program is off-site, ensure that students are participating and interacting and keep attendance record for course. While program is virtual, tutors are expected to use Google Meet.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Adhere to schedule given by building designee
    • Be prepared to support a clear scope and sequence and instructional expectations shared by the District
    • Create and maintain your Google Classroom and invite all students, families and building designee to participate
    • Communicate with families, students and building designee's (i.e. schedule of sessions, student progress, assignments)
    • Use EL and SPED strategies and scaffold for students who are English Learners and Special Education (visuals, vocabulary, graphic organizers, sentence frames, extended time)
    • Maintain attendance and progress monitoring data
    • Follow instructional focus provided by school designee

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Possess and maintain a working knowledge of effective, research-based intervention programs, models and strategies in Math and/or Literacy
    • Have an excellent understanding of the Math and/or Literacy Grade Level Common Core State Standards
    • Work cooperatively with other staff in the school
    • Knowledge of and/or demonstrate the ability to learn and implement Operating Systems (i.e. Windows); Office suites (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Docs); Presentation Software (i.e. PowerPoint, Keynote); Spreadsheets (i.e. Excel, Google Spreadsheets); Communication and Collaboration tools (i.e. Skype) or any other technology deemed relevant for this position
    • Must be college Graduate, Current CT teacher certification preferred.


    WORK YEAR

    Morning tutoring 7:45-8:45; Afternoons 3:45-4:45

    SALARY

    SPS Teachers as per the SEA contract

    College graduate $20.00 /hour

    Certified teacher $25.00 / hour
