Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in communications/media, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Six years of progressively more responsible experience in media relations, journalism, or communications, two years of which must have been with oversight or supervisory responsibilities. Experience in public school administration or large diverse organizations preferred. Knowledge of current principles and practices utilized in mass communications and large-scale public relations. Knowledge of public education, news media, local government, and related political processes. Knowledge of preK-12 and the school division's organization, policies, and regulations. Ability to supervise human, physical, and financial resources. Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects. Ability to plan and conduct professional development activities. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in the use of applicable technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
