PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Supervisor of Mathematics and Data Study's specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop and lead high quality professional development via face to face, online, and/or hybrid models for SWBOCES and component districts
• Build/extend relationships with partner schools and districts by assisting schools/districts in developing, monitoring, and evaluating teaching and learning (P-12) in mathematics and Data Study
• Guide schools/districts through data analysis, self-assessment, and professional development planning
• Identify and develop new capacity building educational services and programs in response to the unique needs of schools/districts/region
• Work collaboratively to create, lead, and support the development and implementation of standards-based curriculum across all component districts/schools
• Build a team of expert coaches and consultants that thrives on trust, collaboration and professional growth
• Support the professional learning and growth of teachers, schools, and classrooms by providing embedded coaching and lesson modeling for teachers/school leaders
• Manage communications (social media, website, print, and other) to inform varied constituents/audiences about the Center's activities, programs and services
• Ensure consistent data collection and reporting of learner feedback, attendance, and program effectiveness to Center faculty and others
• Assist with the business and management aspects of the Center (budget, program descriptions, partnerships, evaluation, etc.)
• Provide thought leadership/partnership and expertise in NYSED curriculum and instruction implementation
• Assist with supervision and evaluation of Center staff; Ensure the programs operated by the Center are in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Represent the Center and facilitate relationships within the tri-county BOCES and their respective Centers for professional learning
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Five (5)+ years as a Teacher (Mathematics and/or STEM)
• Prior experience as a staff/professional developer
• Excellent teaching, coaching, communication and presentation skills
• NYS District-wide Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL)
• Ability to travel to school and districts throughout the region and surrounding areas
• Ability to manage field-based consultants/teams
• Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work effectively in a team and to interface diplomatically with all levels of staff, contractors, teachers and school administration
• Strong knowledge of NYSED math standards and programs in relation schools (Generation Ready, IB, AP, etc.)
• Expert in selecting and using EdTech tools
Position located at the Center for Professional Development, Harrison, NY
Salary is Commensurate with experience
