About the IDEA Founding Teacher Fellowship
The Founding Teacher Fellowship is an amazing opportunity for individuals with or without teaching experience who are looking to be game-changing educators with IDEA Public Schools in Cincinnati. The one-year fellowship will take place in Texas on an award-winning campus and will prepare individuals to be successful founding teachers or teacher leaders in Cincinnati for the 2022 school year. Fellows will get to experience IDEA culture and values first-hand by owning the academic and personal success of IDEA students, planning for and implementing IDEA curriculum, receiving weekly coaching and feedback from IDEA leaders, and attending monthly new region meetings to build community among the future founding teachers and leaders.

Responsibilities:

- Implement IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
- Support with grading, lesson planning, preparation of class materials and classroom management
- Track individual student's progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update grade book weekly
- Communicate students' progress with student and family on a weekly basis
- Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing students' character and sense of community in the classroom
- Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs
- Participate in weekly professional development, grade-level meetings and activities, and school wide meetings and functions
- Additional responsibilities may include: after-school tutoring or Saturday school and are based on the needs of our scholars

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher (preferred)
- Experience working with children, preferably children from low-income backgrounds
- Evidence of strong leadership with a proven track record of success in an academic or professional setting

Founding Teacher Fellows will receive:

- Additional hourly compensation is provided for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.
