Job Summary :
Serves as a member of the superintendent's cabinet. Assists in planning and organizing the activities of the district. Responsibilities include: Assisting in monitoring building and grounds renovations, transportation, AP and payroll, financing and managing the business operations of the District, in order to maximize available resources, in accordance with District objectives, budget, state and federal requirements.
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of experience in similar position.
Education and Experience
Master's Degree in Business Administration/Accounting or related field.
Demonstrated expertise, leadership and knowledge of best practices in business services.
CSBO with experience preferred.
IL PEL with required endorsements
Essential Functions:
Develop the annual budgets and long-term financial planning, including:
Assume the responsibility of the overall management of the food service, transportation and safety operations including:
Conducts various cost and statistical analyses related to construction, renovations, acquisitions and development of land and/or property as presented in a ten-year capital improvement plan
Maintains liaison with agencies having jurisdiction over or providing services to district buildings
Assist in managing technology systems
Keep abreast and informed of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings and conferences, reading professional journals and other publications and staying connected within the field
Perform other duties as assigned
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to perform all of the duties and responsibilites of the position
Experienced with Infinite Visions
Ability to communicate effectively and accurately
Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Excel
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external staff and constituents
Ability to work independently, stay on task, multi-task and take responsibility to complete assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner.
Travel Requirements:
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Essential Functions:
Develop the annual budgets and long-term financial planning, including:
- Prepare and administer the budget for all district departments
- Provide budgetary analysis and appropriate recommendation concerning the development of the budget to the Board of Education
- Review submitted budget requests to insure documentation, establishment of priorities and effective budget planning
- Maintain all budgets
- Adequate recording of money and credit transactions, supervision of all accounting operations, and monitoring the annual budget, cash flow and revenues.
- Maintain the necessary control over the receipt of materials and equipment to ensure that items are inventoried and paid expeditiously
- Program cost accounting
- General ledger accounting
- Internal audits
- Government Donated Commodities
- Work closely and cooperatively with independent auditors to meet legal obligations for ensuring sound fiscal controls.
