JOB TITLE: Building Operations Supervisor

JOB GOAL: To supervise staff that will provide preventive maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment in all District Buildings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Arizona driver's license
  • Experience with computers, such as email and work order systems
  • Minimum of two years of physical facilities experience
  • Experience in purchase and use of all general building materials
  • Experience in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of buildings and equipment
  • Experience in supervision of staff preferred
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
  • Required to pass a criminal history background check


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
  1. Supports the Strategic Plan of Queen Creek Unified School District
  2. Works closely with Facilities Supervisor to ensure all departmental goals are met
  3. Supervises the building maintenance, HVAC, and building safety personnel
  4. Examines school buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance
  5. Establishes and recommends priorities on repair projects
  6. Recruits, interviews, and recommends for hire maintenance personnel for whom supervision is provided.
  7. Oversees the essential operations task of exemplary maintained front entrance areas to facilities and athletic facilities
  8. Coordinates safety training and conducts regular staff meetings
  9. In conjunction with the Facilities Supervisor, oversees the District's On-Call program
  10. Assists in estimating the cost of repair projects in terms of labor, materials, and overhead
  11. Assigns and supervises preventive maintenance work
  12. Assists in requisition of all tools, parts, and supplies
  13. Supervises the retention of all building construction, equipment, and systems, documents
  14. Maintains records of all equipment and facilities repairs for capital projects
  15. Participates in the development of an annual budget for the Building Operations and Construction Department
  16. Advises on the hiring of contractors to perform certain maintenance or repair services
  17. Assists in coordinating the maintenance staff for Facility Rental events
  18. Conducts annual evaluation of all maintenance, HVAC, building safety employees, as assigned
  19. Responsible for written routine reports and correspondence
  20. Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to 24-hour on-call

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places , fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid conditions . The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 days 12-Month, Vacation Days: Per policy GDD, General Leave Days: per policy GDCA

COMPENSATION: Per Support Service Professionals - Classified Exempt Salary Schedule

B ENEFITS: As per District policy

REPORTS TO : Executive Director of Operations and Construction

HOURS: 40 hours per week and may require longer hours
